Your Basecamp for Bucket-List Riding in Southeastern Arizona
Once-in-a-Lifetime Rides. Unforgettable Country. Bring Your Horse & Stay Awhile.
There are places you ride—and then there are places you remember for the rest of your life. Peace & Plenty Ranch puts you in the heart of some of the most spectacular horseback riding in the desert Southwest. Centrally located between the Dragoon and Chiricahua Mountains, our equine campground was created for riders who want more than a campsite. They come here to experience the kind of country they’ve dreamed about riding.
Towering granite formations. Rugged desert canyons. High-country oak and pine. Sweeping mountain views. Historic trails winding through country once traveled by Apache warriors, cavalry soldiers, miners, ranchers, and pioneers. These are bucket-list rides—the kind of rides worth hauling across the country to experience.
Ride through the dramatic granite country of the Dragoon Mountains and Cochise Stronghold. Explore the mountain trails around Turkey Creek. Saddle up beneath the extraordinary rock formations of Chiricahua National Monument. Or load up and head south for a completely different adventure along the San Pedro River near Tombstone. And that’s only the beginning. We currently have 24+ mapped rides available to help our guests explore the region, ranging from shorter 5-mile outings to longer day rides, plus additional destinations such as Chiricahua National Monument.
This Is Country Worth Taking Your Time to Explore
Southeastern Arizona is enormous, diverse, breathtaking—and rugged. The best riding isn’t concentrated around one trailhead. It’s spread throughout the mountains, canyons, desert, and national forest surrounding Peace & Plenty Ranch. That’s exactly why we provide two stock trailers for campground guests. While riding directly from the ranch is very limited, you aren’t restricted to what’s outside the gate. Load up and choose your adventure. One day might take you into the Dragoons. The next could find you climbing through the Chiricahuas. Another might take you through Turkey Creek or south toward Tombstone.
You can certainly experience an unforgettable ride during a short visit, but if you really want to discover this corner of Arizona, give yourself time. Stay a week. Stay two. Stay a month. Or join the guests who make Peace & Plenty their winter home. We’ve had guests spend the winter here and log approximately 700 miles in the saddle—and still have more country left to explore.
You may run out of winter before you run out of places to ride.
Your Horse-Friendly Home Base
After a day exploring Arizona’s backcountry, Peace & Plenty gives both you and your horse a comfortable place to come home to. We offer five pull-through RV sites with full hookups, an additional RV site with water and electric, plus dry camping options. Horses have spacious 20′ × 20′ corrals, and guests are welcome to use our 110′ × 200′ arena and round pen during their stay.
But the experience doesn’t end when you unsaddle. Kick off your boots and gather beneath the pavilion. Fire up the barbecue. Swap stories around the campfire. Schedule a massage. Explore our Rebalancing & Wellness services for yourself or your horse. Or pour something cold, watch the Arizona sunset, and start planning tomorrow’s ride.
Peace & Plenty isn’t about rushing through Arizona. It’s about having a comfortable place to unpack, settle in, explore, rest, restore—and do it all again tomorrow.
Come for the horses. Come for the adventure. Stay because there’s always another trail waiting.
